Participants

The deadline for the competition was on 1st July 2014!

Eligible were composers aged 30 or less with a permanent residence in a European country.

dates

  • 1. July 2014: Deadline for receiving the score and sound files
  • 27./28. November 2014: Workshop with the Youth Orchestra of Bremen with the 3 finalists
  • 28. November 2014: Finale in Bremen

to submit

  • Score for full orchestra and sound file for both trailers, "Super Mario 3D World” as well as „The Raven – Legacy of a Master Thief“. Music has to be written for both trailers, each of which lasts about 3 minutes. Orchestration is allowed up to the maximum: strings - 14/12/10/8/6; woods: 3.3.3.3. - brass: 4.3.3.1. - harp - timp.4 percussion. The score ought to be written with sibelius or finale.
  • A musical curriculum vitae in PDF format.
  • A Copy of passport/birth certificate in PDF format.

prizes

  • Three finalists will be invited to the workshop with the Landesjugendorchester Bremen at 27./28. November 2014.
  • The music of the first prize winner will be accepted to the publishing program of the publisher Universal Edition AG, Wien.
  • KING Art Games invites the first prizewinner to compose for a trailer for one of the next KING Art Games.

money prizes

  • 1. prize donated by Sparkasse Bremen: 2.000,- €
  • 2. prize: 1.000,- €
  • 3. prize: 500,- €

  • A jury will choose a preselection of candidates until 1st of August 2014. The three finalists will be notified up to 30. September 2014.

  • The participants agree that their work may be published and performed publicly. It may also be performed on air.
  • The music of the first prizewinner may also be used for the trailer and the game "The Raven".
  • All decisions of the jury are final.
  • The competition is a cooperation project of Landesjugendorchester Bremen, Radio Bremen and Glocke Veranstaltungs-GmbH.
